Etymology: back-formation from squegger tube in which the valve oscillates, from squegg- (blend of squeeze and wedge) + -er; from the oscillation's being a form of blocking of the grid
: to oscillate in a highly irregular fashion especially from too much unwanted feedback — used of an electronic system
